1. About WorthTheDrive

WorthTheDrive (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the fuel price comparison and driving cost calculation tool at worththedrive.co.uk. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

WorthTheDrive provides:

  • A tool for finding petrol stations near a given UK location or along a planned route.
  • An estimated calculation of the net financial saving or cost of driving to a cheaper petrol station, after accounting for the estimated cost of the drive.
  • Links to third-party navigation applications to help you reach a selected station.

The service is provided free of charge and without registration.

3. The calculation is an estimate - not financial advice

The net saving or cost figure displayed by WorthTheDrive is an estimate only. It should be used as a guide to inform your decision, not as a guarantee of the outcome.

The calculation is based on:

  • Fuel price data from the UK Government Fuel Finder scheme. Petrol stations are legally required to update their prices within 30 minutes of any change, but we cannot guarantee that all prices displayed are current, accurate, or complete at the time you view them. Always verify the price at the pump before making a purchase decision.
  • Distance approximation. For the Near Me feature, for performance the driving distance is estimated using straight-line (Haversine) distance multiplied by a road distance factor. This is an approximation and does not reflect actual road distances, traffic conditions, or your specific route.
  • Your stated vehicle settings. The calculation uses the tank size, tank filled state and MPG figures you enter. You are responsible for ensuring these are reasonably accurate for your vehicle.

The actual saving or cost you experience may differ from the estimate due to real-world driving conditions, traffic, actual road routes, and other factors outside our control.

WorthTheDrive is a decision-support tool only. It does not constitute financial advice. You remain solely responsible for any decisions you make based on the information displayed.

4. Data accuracy and disclaimer

Fuel price data is sourced from the UK Government Fuel Finder scheme, operated by VE3 Global Ltd on behalf of the UK Government. We make reasonable efforts to display accurate and current price data, including flagging and excluding prices that appear suspect. However:

  • We do not collect or verify price data independently.
  • We cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any price displayed.
  • Prices may have changed between the last update and the time you view them.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under English law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the service by automated means without our prior written consent.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or damage the service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use the service to transmit any material that is unlawful, harmful, offensive, or fraudulent.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its associated systems.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the service for any user who we reasonably believe is in breach of these conditions.

6. Third-party navigation services

The service provides links to third-party navigation applications including Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze. These links are provided for your convenience only. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for:

  • The content, accuracy, or availability of those services.
  • The privacy practices of those services.
  • The accuracy of navigation directions provided by those services.

Use of third-party navigation services is subject to their own terms and conditions. Always follow applicable road traffic law, drive safely, and do not interact with your device while driving.

7. Intellectual property

All content, design, branding, code, and other materials on worththedrive.co.uk, except for third-party logos, are owned by WorthTheDrive or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our prior written permission.

Fuel price data is sourced from the UK Government Fuel Finder scheme and is subject to the terms of that scheme.

Third-party names, logos, and trademarks shown on this site are used for identification and informational purposes only in connection with station search results. All trademarks, service marks, and logos are the property of their respective owners. Use of these marks does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from those owners.

8. Advertisements

The website displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. The presence of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement of the advertised product or service by WorthTheDrive.

We do not allow advertisers to pay to have their petrol stations promoted, ranked, or otherwise given preferential treatment within our results or calculations. All station rankings are determined solely by the calculation.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, we do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • Fuel price data will be accurate, complete, or current.
  • The estimated saving or cost displayed will reflect your actual outcome.
  • The service will meet your specific requirements.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WorthTheDrive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the service, including but not limited to loss of fuel costs, travel costs, or any other financial loss arising from reliance on the calculation.

Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the service shall not exceed £10.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

11. Service availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or any part of the service at any time, with or without notice, for reasons including maintenance, updates, or commercial decisions. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

You may link to worththedrive.co.uk from your own website, provided you do so in a way that is fair, legal, and does not damage our reputation or imply endorsement where none exists. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the service.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
